An Easy Way to Publish Multiple Applications

Did you know that you can publish multiple applications to a single Citrix Presentation Server in one shot?  Not using scripts, but within Citrix Access Management Console itself?

Interestingly enough, it is possible to publish multiple applications by simply highlighting the applications and dragging them to the server object.  The only caveat, there is no way easy way to unpublish multiple applications from a server.

Click on the images for a better view.

Select Server Object

1. Highlight the Server object that the applications will be published to.

Select Change Display

2. From the second pane, selected Change Display

Select Published Applications

3. Select Published applications

No Published Applications

4. The third pane now shows the list of application published to the server.  In this example, there are no applications currently published to the server.

Select Published Applications Folder

5. Select the Application Folder that contains the applications to be published.  This will list the published application in the third pane.  If not, select the Change display item in the second pane and choose Contents option.

Select Applications to Publish

6. In the third pane, select the items to publish.  In this example I selected the top entry and while holding down the Shift key selected the last entry to select all of the applications listed.

Drag and Drop Applications

7. While the applications are highlighted, drag-and-drop the items onto the server object.

Verify Applications are Published

8. Select the Server object again to and verify that the applications have been published to the server.

What would happen if MS Office didn't exist on the server you were publishing
the apps on? Would you get an error message or would it just publish a broken
app?

Thanks.

If the applications are not installed on the server the management interface
will still let you publish that application and users will try connecting to
them. They will receive an error at this point.

Makes sense - thanks for the post - should make things go faster for us just shy
of the number of servers that necessitate scripting.
